…So, let’s voice the possibilities.

If you fly, you will be seen,

for your wings are powerful

and full of color. If not, you

will miss why you are here.

What does it mean to fly? Well,

that’s the question, isn’t it?

For those of us wanting to be loved,

it’s the courage to say,

I am lonely.

For those of us tumbling in our

fear, it’s the courage to accept

that nothing is certain

but still to know—

in this open wing

that is our breath—

we are safe.
