What is the process for adopting the 8th Principle at the denominational level? 

The UU Principles and Purposes are defined in Article II of the UUA bylaws. The UUA has formed an Article II Study Commission including Paula Cole Jones, one of the co-authors of the 8th Principle. The Commission is exploring the addition of the 8th Principle and will make a recommendation to the UUA Board by January 2022 for possible consideration at the June 2022 General Assembly.

How many congregations have adopted the 8th Principle?  

As of April 2021, forty-six (46) congregations have adopted the 8th Principle.

Who has expressed support for the 8th Principle?  

In addition to the congregations that have adopted it, the 8th Principle has been endorsed by Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism (BLUU) and Diverse and Revolutionary UU Multicultural Ministries (DRUUMM, a UU People of Color organization).
