Guest preacher Karen Sargent will talk about what it looks like to love people in particular instead of in general and how being present with people in their particularities lends itself to ongoing justice work.
Karen Sargent is a second-year Masters of Divinity student at Boston University on the chaplaincy track. After graduating from Bridgewater State University in 2014 with degrees in Anthropology and Spanish, she worked in the non-profit sector in both public relations and administration. Before applying to graduate school, she completed a year of service with the Episcopal Service Corps and served as a port chaplain with the organization Mission to Seafarers, a nonprofit which seeks to serve the wellbeing of seafarers worldwide. In her spare time, you can find Karen swing dancing (West Coast and Lindy) or getting a cup of coffee from Blue State. She will also never turn down an offer for soup dumplings.
