This will be a Zoom live-stream service at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 14. You can begin to sign in at 10:30 am. at this link. This service will be recorded and will include a closed caption option.
This Sunday we will celebrate two important moments of change in our community. First, we will celebrate with families as the children who have been active in nursery care bridge into RE and the older children who have finished their OWL training will bridge into the Youth Group and Coming of Age. We are thrilled to watch our young people move forward in their journey as friends and as part of the community. Next, we will take time to celebrate a virtual Flower Communion as a ritual of embracing change in all of the different parts of our lives.
For Flower Communion, you are invited to bring a flower of any kind with you to the worship service. This could be an actual flower, a drawing or other artwork, a flower hat, a flowered shirt or even a flower in your heart or memory. Jennifer Fitch has created an instruction video to show you how to make an origami flower if you would like to bring one with you. During the ritual, we will be invited to share our flowers with each other in various ways through group participation. Sharing the many different flowers that we all have in our lives is one way we stay connected to change and the beauty of life that grows in and around us at all times. We hope you will join in the fun, celebration and ritual.
