Are We a Family?

On this Father’s Day weekend, Rev. Adam Lawrence Dyer reflects on how the LGBTQ community has often used the word “family” to describe and hold the relationships shared within the community.  What do we learn from LGBTQ people and leaders about how to be more of a “family” as a faith community in a time of racial, economic, health and political division?

A reminder that our shared offering recipient for June is Black and Pink, which provides advocacy and support to current and formerly incarcerated LGBTQ+ people.  They provide programs aimed at supporting people through legal services, penpal connections, and re-entry and youth training. Incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people are particularly vulnerable during the pandemic, and Black and Pink continues to provide necessary services and prison abolition advocacy.
