Marion Wright Edelman in Guide My Feet, worries that “so many people feel overwhelmed and disempowered by the stresses of modern life that they convince themselves that they can’t make a difference.”

She offers us a prayer for such times.

God, please help us remember that all the darkness in the world cannot snuff out the light of one little candle.

Help us to keep lighting our little candles until the mighty torch of justice sweeps our nation and the world.
