Join us Sunday, April 6 for a special visit from some great musical guests: Rochelle Rice and Chris Hon, in conjunction with the First Parish Choir!

Rochelle Rice is a dynamic vocalist, composer, and creative talent who blends jazz, soul and pop with heartfelt expression and technical brilliance. Whether performing at iconic venues like The Kennedy Center or Blues Alley, or sharing original music from her debut album Wonder, Rochelle’s artistry resonates deeply with her audience. Collaboration is at the heart of her work. From touring with the celebrated Sweet Honey In The Rock® to contributing to various projects, Rochelle’s passion for connection shines through. With classical training from East Carolina Universityand a Masters in jazz studies from Howard University (where she sang with the renowned Afro Blue), she bridges technical skill with soul-stirring emotion.

Offstage, Rochelle is equally impactful—advocating for social justice, mentoring through partnerships with organizations like the DC Jazz Festival and Strathmore Music Center, and earning recognition as Washington City Paper’s Best Jazz Vocalist and the Bernard Ebb Songwriter Award. Her latest project,Tell Her This, is an inspiring blend of podcasting, visual art and live music that celebrates the voices and wisdom of women. Based in Washington, she lives with her husband and daughter, continuing to inspire through her creativity and commitment to making meaningful connections.

Chris Hon has made a fast ascent as one of DCs most sought-after pianists, bassists and producers. Hailing from Walnut, CA, Chris came to Washington DC to pursue a law degree, but quickly became immersed in the distinct DC music scene, working as a session musician and lead keyboard player for the Go-go/Jazz fusion ensemble, the JoGo Project, and women’s vocal ensemble bēheld. Chris is also no stranger to the infamous NPR Tiny Desk, where he was featured as bassist on the recent .idk show, among others!
