Carol Lewis came to First Parish as Office Administrator in February 2008 and was promoted to Congregational Administrator in October 2011.  Carol has responsibility for staff supervision, building rentals, bookkeeping, and daily administrative oversight at First Parish.

Carol brings a variety of experience in non-profit settings to her work her at First Parish.  After spending several years in the banking industry, culminating with a position as Banking Officer at Bank of New England, she left the corporate world to explore her calling to church work.  Determining that pastoral ministry was not the path for her, Carol worked for 20 years as the Director of Religious Education at First United Methodist Church in North Andover, MA.  She also served for several years as the secretary at First UMC.   Just prior to coming to First Parish, Carol was the Office Manager and Guest Services Coordinator at Rolling Ridge Retreat Center in North Andover.

Carol definitely looks at her work as a ministry to and with the congregation and enjoys the diversity of tasks that come her way.  She is passionate about social justice and has participated in several activities including LGBTQ inclusion and rights; housing rehab work in rural, western Maine; a partnership with a church in Hiroshima, Japan and work with MAPA (Mision a Paraiso Ahora) a United Methodist group working with a church run school in the Dominican Republic. Carol also volunteers regularly at and serves on the Board of Directors of Bread and Roses Soup Kitchen in Lawrence, MA.

Carol lives in Methuen, MA with her husband, John; daughter, Heather; granddaughter, Alexa and their redbone coonhound, Fernie.  They are members of North Parish Church, Unitarian Universalist in North Andover.
