Choking back sobs. This is my prayer:
Enough!
Enough of our babies’ blood.
Enough fear and numbness and acting as if we cannot change.
As if this is the way You’ve called us to live – this broken and unmoved.
Enough!
Lord, have mercy on us.
Have mercy on us.
Have mercy.
For the families and communities of the 21 beating hearts that are no more.
For the wounded. For our sickness. I pray your mercy.
We are broken.
Heal us.
May we say yes to healing with our signatures, our prayers, our voices, our action, our doing justice and loving mercy and walking humbly.
Enough.

This prayer is a lamentation, a form of prayer for help coming out of pain. Lamentations are very common in the Bible, especially in the Book of Psalms which contains over 50 laments.
