Children/Youth

Welcome to Religious Education at First Parish in Cambridge!

Here at First Parish in Cambridge, we’re dedicated to fostering spiritual curiosity and faith
formation for every child and youth.  Here, you can learn more about our Unitarian Universalist faith by cooking, singing, painting; traveling to UU historic sites, farms, and houses of worship; creating table decorations or serving meals for our Tuesday Meals soup kitchen guests; marching for justice; hearing stories from puppets and people, asking questions, and wondering together about the answers. Most weeks, our volunteer teachers lead curriculum based in our Seven Principles and Six Sources. Find out more specifics under What We’re Learning. Children are always welcome in worship, and instead of RE programs, we hold family-friendly worship services on many holidays. See our schedule here. We also provide weekly nursery care during the worship service for children ages 0-4.

We look forward to meeting you on Sunday!

Seven UU Principles
1.Each person is important.
2. Be kind in all you do.
3. We’re free to learn together.
4. We search for what is true.
5. All people need a voice.
6. Build a fair and peaceful world.
7. We care for Earth’s lifeboat.

Six UU Sources
We celebrate the sense of wonder we all share.
We learn from people who are kind and fair.
We learn from the wisdom of other religions.
We honor our Jewish and Christian roots that ask us to love others as we love ourselves.
We believe in the use of reason and the discoveries of science.
We are part of the harmony of nature and the sacred circle of life.
